Run by the same team behind the popular Somar Bar in Uptown Oakland, MIX Bar promises a lively atmosphere with its grand opening set for Thursday, May 7.

Berkeley’s Flavorful Additions
Berkeley is seeing a surge of new dining options. Dumpling Day has opened its doors, offering a menu filled with pan-fried mini dumplings, xiao long bao, mala soups, and noodle soups. This new spot is a haven for dumpling enthusiasts looking for a variety of flavors.
Dera Cafe has soft opened in the former location of Guerilla Cafe, which closed in December after 20 years. This cozy cafe serves chai, coffee, pastries, and desserts, providing a welcoming space for Berkeley residents.
The Hinodeya ramen chain has arrived in Berkeley, known for its dashi broth ramen soups, including a creamy vegan option and a house ramen special with chashu. The former Starline Social Club space has been reworked and renamed Starlinepartnering with food purveyor Sistas Wings to lead the kitchen. Teni East Kitchena popular Burmese restaurant, has opened in its new Piedmont Avenue location, offering a Cali-cuisine spin on Burmese dishes. Zeng’s Family Kitchen has opened a new kiosk inside Swan’s Market, serving a variety of Chinese dishes.
In other parts of the Bay Area, Meyhousea new Turkish restaurant and jazz venue, has opened in San Ramon. In Walnut Creek, Doppio Zeroa modern Italian restaurant, has grand opened, serving neapolitan-style pizzas, pastas, and Southern Italian entrees.
