However, the Postal Service has assured that the location is not shutting down and will resume full operations once the issue is resolved. The exact cause of the outage remains unknown according to Meiko S. Patton a spokesperson for the Postal Service.

During the outage, the service center has been operating at a minimal capacity. Customers with post office boxes can still access them, but most other services have been temporarily suspended. A visit to the location around 10:30 a.m. on Friday revealed the office locked and unmanned, despite the posted operating hours starting at 9 a.m.. However, by Monday afternoon the door was open, and customers were seen coming and going.
The Postal Service has advised customers to utilize alternative locations for their postal needs. The nearest full-service office is situated about a mile west on Cornell Avenue near the Albany end of Solano. Additionally, there are collection boxes strategically placed every few blocks along Solano Avenue, providing a convenient option for mailing items.
