A Severe Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for the Antelope Valley in California, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). The alert is active from 22 July 2026, 09:01 to 27 July 2026, 20:00.
The warning indicates that daytime temperatures may range between 100 and 108 degrees, with warm overnight conditions providing less relief than usual.
An Extreme Heat Warning may lead to a high risk for dangerous heat illness, particularly for sensitive groups such as the very young, the very old, those without air conditioning, and those active outdoors.
In case of an emergency, call 911. Follow guidance from the NWS and local authorities. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids and limit outdoor activities to early morning or evening. Stay in air-conditioned rooms and avoid direct sunlight. Check on relatives and neighbors, especially those who may be more vulnerable to the heat.
