Compared to the national average, California’s gas prices are 34.01% higher, placing the state among the more expensive areas in the country for fuel. For context, the most expensive area in the U.S. is California itself, while the cheapest is Texas, where gas averages $3.644 per gallon.
The gap between gasoline and diesel prices in California stands at $1.181 per gallon, reflecting the broader trend of higher diesel costs across the nation.
