A Severe Red Flag Warning is in effect for Eastern Lake Including Clearlake and Middletown; Southern Lake Including Cobb and Konocti in California, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). The warning is expected to remain in effect until June 11, 2026, at 09:00.
The warning indicates that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. North to northeast winds are expected to increase to 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph on the ridges through Thursday morning. Humidity recoveries on the ridges are only expected to be around 20 to 40 percent Thursday morning. Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
In case of emergency, dial 911. The NWS advises following the guidance of local authorities and emergency services. To prepare, avoid all outdoor burning and open flames. Properly discard cigarettes and keep defensible space clear of dry vegetation. Be ready to evacuate if necessary.
