This unique point of origin contributed to the fire’s rapid spread to multiple floors, according to Lt. Mariano Elias a spokesperson for the SFFD.
“The light shaft allowed the fire to travel upwards, making it particularly challenging to contain,” Elias explained. The fire’s trajectory through the building’s vertical structure necessitated a coordinated effort from firefighters to prevent further damage and ensure the safety of residents.
Evacuation and medical response
